It’s Time For June’s Monthly Garden Bouquet (MGB)

Prettiest Country Bouquets

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  I wish that I could say that I enjoyed mine, but unfortunately, I came down with the stomach flu.  I am just now able to sit for a while without getting dizzy.

Oh well, enough about me.  I am so excited to see your garden bouquets for the month of June.  I would think that everyone has at least a few different plants in flower this month.

My entry this month is my favorite one that I have posted to date.  And, it was not created by me.  Earlier this month, my daughter’s high school graduation party was held at Double S Farms, the home of my mother, my sister and her family.  It was a beautiful June evening and just before the guests were to arrive, my mother, (Pastor Farmer), went outside, cut some blooms from her flowering shrubs and made the prettiest country bouquets.

They looked so pretty, on the old wooden table.  I had forgotten my camera, so my sister let me borrow hers.

The flowers in this arrangement are from two shrubs that are found growing in many gardens in the southwest….Green Cloud Sage (Leucophyllum frutescens ‘Green Cloud’) and Orange Jubilee (Tecoma x Orange Jubilee).  I love how great the colors of purple and orange look together.  **Colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, contrast nicely when paired together.

Gold Lantana and Orange Jubilee

Smaller bouquets also graced the table and were made up of Gold Lantana and Orange Jubilee.

We had a great time at the party and the weather in June is just perfect for evening gatherings outdoors.

I would love to see your June bouquets.  The guidelines for MGB are very simple….

1. MGB is held the third week of each month and bouquets can be submitted during a 7 day period (or even later if you like).

2. Create your own bouquet as fancy or simple as you like.

3. I would appreciate it if you would provide a link back to my post inside of your MGB post, but it is not required 🙂

4. Add your link to Mr. Linky below and that’s it!

I cannot wait to see what bouquets you create from your summer gardens.

Have a great week!

Dear Noelle, I was so distressed to learn that you had been unwell over the weekend and do hope that by now you are beginning to feel more yourself.

Your mother's arrangements are very pretty indeed. Like you, I feel that opposite colours do combine so well and here, purple and orange together, is most effective indeed. I once saw a small garden 'room' completely made up of this combination.

These are my sort of bouquets … just love them! There's something quite fresh and welcoming about flowers arranged this way … very nice!

Good to hear that you're feeling better … I would think that with everything that's been happening in you and your family's life lately, you might be feeling a bit drained! Look after yourself.

Absolutely love the Orange Jubilee, and it does look great with the purple Green Cloud Sage.
Your daughter must be excited to be done. Congrats!

Sorry to hear about your bug. There's nothing like getting over a stomach bug, you feel so grateful and really appreciate what it's like NOT having it.

    Take care!

I know you'll be thrilled to hear I actually have flowers enough to make a bouquet. I was doubting last month if anything would be in blossom, but then I'm a doubter every spring. I put my MGB in my sidebar with a link back to you.

Oh Noelle stomach flu is awful – I dread getting that bug as it takes quite a few days to recover so I hope when you read this all your energy is coming back again and your appetite.

Your mother's little arrangement is very eyecatching indeed and I love the colour scheme that she picked aswell – its one mix of colours that I really like – the late Christopher Lloyd would have used these colours quite a bit too and he has those colours featured together in one of his many books I have here.

I'm glad it sounds like the worst of your stomach flu has passed. I hate how miserable such things can make you feel. I love your Mother's bouquets, but orange/purple flower combinations are favorite, so I might be a little biased 😛

Your bouquets are so pretty. I just love the yellows and purple, what a beautiful centerpiece.
I just put mine together and thanks to your idea for these monthly bouquets it really cheered me up. We've had such gloomy weather still and the mission of going out for a bouquet made me feel so much better.
    Take care of yourself!

Your vases of flowers are just gorgeous. I don't think there is anything better than running out and picking a bunch of flowers from your own garden. You have inspired me to do so. we have had a ton of things going on that have kept me to preoccupied to worry about picking flowers, not to mention the extreme humidity and heat that makes me want to stay where it is airconditioned. I will pick some tomorrow and join in your fun meme. I didn't know you had this. Ilove these sorts of things because you get to see what everyone else is growing as well as their creativity. hope you are feeling better.
