Are you ready to celebrate the 4th?
I’m not…
I have to make dessert for our annual family gathering tomorrow.
My sister hosts our annual Fourth of July celebration for two reasons:
– One, she has a swimming pool.
– Two, our town’s fireworks show takes place one block away from her house.
We had fun last year.  Here are a few photos of our celebration.
The photos aren’t the best quality, but you can still see how much fun we had.

Before the official fireworks begin, we light up our own.
My brother is in charge with his nephews gathered around him.   Each kid gets to pick out their favorite fireworks.
Now it is time for the official fireworks to begin.  Being so close, they are kind of loud.  My brother, sticks right by my daughter, Gracie, who is a little afraid of loud noises.
Watching fireworks from my sister’s backyard.

Gracie and I enjoying the show.

Okay, back to important things, like dessert.  I like to cook, but making desserts is one of my favorite things to make.

This year, I am trying a new dessert that I found on Pinterest, called S’mores Bars.

Graham cracker crust on the bottom, a layer of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate Candy Bar followed by a layer of marshmallow fluff and finished with a top layer of graham cracker crust.

I can hardly wait to taste them!
