Caribbean Vacation

I love visiting tropical places, don’t you?

Some of you may not have noticed, but I have been gone on vacation for the past.

I do love the capability to schedule my blog posts so that I don’t have a one week lapse in my blog.

Well, my family and I have just returned home from a vacation to the Caribbean.

Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea

I would love to tell you all about it, but I can’t……

At least not verbally.

You see, I haven’t been able to speak for the past three days.

Caribbean Vacation

If I could speak to you, I would tell you about the beautiful plants and gardens that I saw.

However, I can show you pictures of some of the strange and unusual plants that I saw….

Caribbean Vacation

I would remark at how warm and beautiful the ocean water was and the breathtaking beach views.

Caribbean Vacation, St. Thomas

Caribbean Vacation, St. Thomas

We were able to visit St. Maarten, St. Thomas and the Bahamas.

Even if I cannot speak, I can still show you pictures of some of the plants that I saw that I cannot identify, hoping that maybe some of you may know what they are.  Like this flowering tree below….

Caribbean Vacation

If only I could speak, I would tell you that we had a wonderful time with our entire family.

We went with my husband’s parents and his sister’s family.

Caribbean Vacation

I was sad to see our vacation end.  But, I must say that I glad to be home again.

There is nothing that can compare to sleeping in your own bed, don’t you agree?

St. Maarten

 St. Maarten

I am thankful that I do not need to rely on my voice to communicate with all of you 🙂

Sadly, that is not true with trying to communicate with my family.

Unfortunately, I lost my voice on the last day of our vacation.

Yesterday, I visited the doctor, who diagnosed me with not only a virus that is affecting my vocal cords, but also with pneumonia.

I have never had pneumonia before…..

My mother stopped by today with lunch and to give me some TLC.

You know what?  You never outgrow your need for a little mothering now and then 🙂

***************************

I hope that you are all staying well.

I am going to take a nap now……

A Wonderful Memory…..

OMG I am so sorry to hear about that-and developing pneumonia in the warm Caribbean, that is just so unusual!

My doctor prescribed treatment for pneumonia ( as I travel to lesser developed countries I always have to take a medical kit ) is a course of Ciprofaxin as well as an expectorant.

The orange flowering tree is Geiger or Cordia Sebestena, I have 3 at home plus a white one.

    Get well soon.

    Oh it's so beautiful there.

I know that the 2nd last photo is a picture of an Ixora flower.

Hope you get better soon Noelle. My little nephew is just recovering from pneumonia.

I'm sorry to hear about the pneumonia but certainly happy you shared this marvelous trip with us! That Bougainvillea is just delightful. Here's to a speedy recovery.

I hope you get your voice back. What a terrible time for you to get sick! Why does it always seem to happen during our vacations?

As for the scheduling part of this blog, it's wonderful. I have my trip coming up to Panama and I am getting my topic writes ready to post while I am out of the country. The only thing that is tricky is when a current issue comes up and you have to move the posts around, but other than that, it's a great feature. Get better. Feel better.

What a beautiful trip you had. How fun that your whole family was there.
I've heard of more people ending up with pneumonia this year and horrible colds going around. Luckily it was the last day of your trip though and hopefully no one else will end up with it.
I agree, never too old to use some mothering.

Noelle, take care of you and do as the doctor orders! So sorry about the illness, but soon you will be feeling better. Beautiful photos, and yes, it is fun to go on vacation, but I always yearn to be back home.

I pray for your swift recovery. Do you happen to have some coconut oil? Take 1 tbsp 3x per day for a week. It is great for killing virus'. Also, honey works wonders for the vocal cords.

Hello Noelle, I've been enjoying your lovely balmy pictures as I sit and listen to the rain bucketing down on the roof here!

You are so well organised with your blog – even automatic posts! I wandered off from mine for a little while and I completely neglected it!

All the very best wishes for getting well soon 🙂

Thank you for sharing such beautiful photos. We have many of those tropical plants here too. The photo of the ocean is awesome. Pneumonia sound very serious. It's a good thing that it only happen when the trip is over and you are able to rest in the comfort of your own bed.
